My mom always recalls to me, the times when my Poppee (my mom's daddy), would come into the girls's room just before bed time and lay out wet sheets across them and turn on the ceiling fans. I always thought that sounded much better than air conditioning. ;)She and her sisters also used to sleep on the front porch on summer nights. Whenever I watch The Man in the Moon (with Reese Witherspoon), I always picture my mom growing up like that...wild, free, full of all the expectations that being a southern girl portends.
Thank you for sharing, Caroline! I would worry a bit about all of the mosquitoes, but sleeping out on the porch in the summer would be better than being in an upstairs bedroom!
Hmmm... can't say that I daydream really ever. I guess my ideal olden day would be my typical Sunday. We do church, have a good, relaxing meal, spend time outside and do very little technology. This is Trav's idea of recharging and it works for me.
Well, you live in Mayberry CSM!
