Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today
January 25, 2016

Outside my window... is much nicer than it was over the weekend. Now we only got a dusting of snow, but it was bitterly cold. Today the sun is shining and it's around 50, which is pretty normal for Atlanta this time of year.

I am thinking about... my sweet Father-in-Law. He has stage 4 cancer and though he overall is feels fine, lately he has been having some pain.

I am thankful... for everything good and bad in my life. Isn't that how we are supposed to be?

I am wearing... navy leggings, navy and white gingham OCBD, and navy ballet flats. When I leave, I will wear this L.L. Bean jacket. My hair is down and only have eyelinerconcealer and lipgloss on today. No jewelry today as I left early this morning and forgot it, including my wedding ring!

I am creating... blog plan and menu plan for this week.

I am going... to the doctor, post office, Sam's Club, Cadillac dealership, and to pick up my son from school. Poor baby has had the flu with the cold part lingering. I forced him to go to school since he doesn't have a fever nor tossed his cookies in 24 hours.

I am wondering... how much it will cost to get our car fixed. :(

I am learning... to apply my make up better with YouTube videos.

In the kitchen... Paula's Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding; supper will be roasted carrots and chicken, mashed potatoes.

I am reading... Good Dog by the staff at Garden & Gun as well as the latest issue of the same magazine in the carpool line.

Favorite Quote... "If a dog will not come to you after looking at your face, then go home and examine your conscience." Woodrow Wilson (in Good Dog)

A peek into my day... it has become a joke that when I am at the doctor I take a selfie. Outside of my Snapchat filters, which I play with at night and send to my husband, I do not take selfies unless I am at the doctor. Mother taught me to dress when going to the doctor, actually anytime one leaves the house, but especially at the doctor as if you look presentable they are more likely to take you serious. So, I wear a dress, pearls, and make up whenever I go. So, here is my selfie from last week at the ankle orthopedist.
